My neighbour Ninna of happens to be a potter/artist with a working home studio; Muckabout Pottery and Stuff.
now and then she hosts classes in her studio classroom. The biggest of my small ones took part in a two day workshop last spring and had a lot of fun making a 9 headed dragon.
cut to last weekend: Friend's of Ninna asked if she could do a workshop that included painting and drawing. We put our heads together and before an hour was done we had a lesson plan built that incorporated both her and my disciplines in a complimentary way.
Today we ran our first collaborative art workshop.
My half was a drawing lesson with a still life set up, timed exercises that focused on different elements of drawing and a final charcoal and chalk drawing of the still life. Ninna introduced extruded clay box making that incorporated elements of the still life as decorative elements and the afternoon came to a close with some vary happy young artists and two very pleased artist/teachers.
