this week I'm running a bookmaking camp in the mmornings. I've been busy sample making. I've got one paper 8 page zines, envelope books, paper bag books and japanese stab style bindings planned. Here are some of the samples I created for the camp. The Japanese Stab style i tested out at Muckabout's Art Journal mini class on Friday night. It's going to be a great week.
also on deck this coming week is paper mache insects at Muckabout in the afternoons. Muckabout Owners Ninna and Winston are hosting this year's Living room art in the heights. We're making the insects for an installation project for that event. It's going to be messy and fun
MY ARTSPACE FALL CLAsses begin this morning. I'm pretty pleased with my lessons this term. They will of course vary in topic and technique as the term progresses but the plans I've drawn up are pretty solid.
It's still early in the term and I have good intentions that may very well go sideways as time passes on. One of those intentions is to keep up with documenting my lessons as they happen.
One of my favourite ways of documenting my lsessons is to time lapse record my demos for sharing with my classes. IT saves time in the studio because the gist of the technique is shared quickly and the class time can be spent making art.
BElow you can watch my first time lapse of this term. I'll be teaching this drawing lesson today.
